More investments in renewables

Seven out of ten companies in the Stavanger region will invest new within the next three years, half of these will invest towards renewables, a new survey shows.

The startling figures appear in a new survey for the Stavanger region, conducted by the Association of Trade Unions in Stavanger and the University of Stavanger.

The main findings show that 69.5 percent of companies will make a new investment during the next three-year period. Of these, 45.9 percent will target renewable energy.

– The starting point is that we need to create thousands of new jobs in the Stavanger region. Both established business and new businesses need to rethink their business model. The main questions are what are we going to live on going forward, what are our competitive advantages and our best conditions for success? says CEO of Stavanger Næringsforening, Harald Minge, on the association’s website.
